Bios of the Folks that began and maintain Hawkwind.

Rev. Charla Hermann

Offering a most unique background as an organizer, environmental and spiritual lecturer, writer and healer, Charla gives Hawkwind her energies, each day.  Charla was born to a spiritual family who served on the Wind River Reservation. From her youth, she has worked to "walk her talk" as she reaches out to others in need.  Charla manages her business and healing work wtih a zeal that has supported the creation of healing circles nationwide. 

Charla's experience in network television has given her the background to develop her media skills. Media skills that have suported her to have written and directed numerous videos and documentaries and co-authored several books.  This work has also taken her to Washington to serve for Children in Crisis.

Her love of living in the lush green mountains of Alabama not only serves her spirit well, it has also contributed to her knowledge of working with herbs.  Charla's dedicated attention to the joy of sharing healing through Ritual and Ceremony has contributed to making Hawkwind a special place for the many folks that have shared the journey with her.

 

Rev. John Tarwater

As an award winning artist, Tarwater has created some of the finest ceremonial drums that can be found.  His loving touch, and strength of character, have created the buildings of Hawkwind in an environmentally sound manner. 

As a magician and ceremonial leader, Tarwaters's joy is found in his dance.  His pride is in the sucess of seeing others become stronger and able to find wholeness.  Throughout the nation, Tarwater has given his efforts to support Elder's and Healing circles with his dedicated ceremonial support and teaching.

 

Rev. Lulu Sliker

Lulu has nurtured and cared for the children and the elders with a special dedication, and has been a teacher at Hawkwind since 1992.  Her studies and support of the Native Elders has taken her around this country, and inspired her to become the true healer she is today. Lulu is known for her herbal healing skills, strong ceremonial presence and gentle touch.  For all those that look to her for assistance in their healing, she is a highly trusted and kind, support person.

 

Rev. Alish Henri

Alisha came to Hawkwind in 1992 and is a trusted counselor on the Hawkwind staff.  Alisha is director of the Regional Ministry of the Universal Brotherhood Movement and assists those who are wishing to formalize their own ministerial practice.  Alisha also shares her skills in Reiki, Nursing and Hypnotherapy with folsk who attend Hawkwinds healing programs.
